Since the time Tik-Tok has been involved in the privacy issues other key players in the tech industry have seen it as a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s needless to say, Tik- Tok gave a new dimension for micro-video creators to earn recognition.
After India banning the mobile application and other countries also raising over the data security issues, multiple companies have launched similar applications.
The latest in the lot comes from the social media pioneer, Instagram. Instagram recently launched Reels which lets users create micro-videos.
Features in Instagram Reels:
Like Tik-Tok, users can create a video for up to 15 seconds and apply different filters to it. Background sounds can also be added and the speed of the video clip can be managed through it. While Instagram already allowed video sharing for 1 min in their post and for up to 60 minutes on IG TV. Reels seem to attract the Tik Tok users. By July 2020, Tittok had 20 million active users in India. This potential audience can attract many investors and companies to jumping and acquire this huge user base.
What are its added advantages?
Unlike Tik Tok, Instagram has policies on the type of content which is spread through it. This is surely going to benefit everyone.
Also previously Tik-Tok was used to create the video and was shared through Instagram. Now this will no longer be required.
